Here's a collection of practical tips and insights to help you find new ways to feel more confident and consistent with your marketing.

Messaging that connects

Clear, human messaging helps the right people trust you faster and feel confident taking the next step.

  1. Say who it's for

Be really clear about who you’re speaking to so the right people feel instantly included. Simple lines like “This is for you if... ” or “Perfect for local businesses who... ” help people self-identify quickly, which builds trust and cuts down on “not sure if this is for me” hesitation.

  2. Lead with the outcome

Most people don’t buy the process, they buy the result. Start by sharing what someone will get or feel after working with you (clarity, confidence, more bookings, less stress), then explain how you’ll help them get there.

  3. Use their exact words

The best copy is usually already sitting in your DMs, emails, and real-life chats. Mirror the phrases your audience uses (“I feel awkward posting, ”I don’t know what to say, ” “I want more locals to find me”) because it makes your marketing feel instantly relatable and understood.

  4. Make it specific enough to trust

Clarity creates confidence. Add the details that answer unspoken questions - what’s included, how it works, where it happens, how long it takes, and what the next step is - so people can say yes without needing to message you for basics.

 Content that builds trust

A simple, repeatable content rhythm keeps you visible and credible without needing to constantly create from scratch

  1. Choose three content themes

Pick three themes you can rotate through so content feels easy and consistent, not random. For example: helpful tips, behind-the-scenes, and local/community stories - this keeps you recognisable and stops the weekly “what on earth do I post?” panic.

  2. Mix your formats on purpose

Different people connect in different ways, so vary how you show up. A quick tip builds credibility, a story builds connection, a testimonial builds trust, and an offer post creates action. Rotating formats keeps your content balanced and helps it convert.

  3. Repurpose what's already working

You don’t need endless new ideas, you need better mileage from the good ones. Turn one topic into multiple pieces - an Instagram post, a story, an email, a short video, and an FAQ - because repetition is how people remember you (and it saves loads of time).

  4. Share proof regularly

Trust grows when people can see the impact of what you do. Sprinkle in screenshots, reviews, photos, mini case studies, and “here’s what happened next” moments so your audience isn’t just hearing claims, they’re seeing evidence.

 Offers people say yes to

Well-shaped offers remove confusion, reduce hesitation, and make buying feel like an obvious, low-effort yes.

  1. Name the problem you solve

If your offer sounds vague, people hesitate because they can’t tell if it’s for them. Use plain language that links your service to a real problem, like “I help local businesses get consistent enquiries with simple content” rather than broad “marketing support. ”

  2. Create a simple next-step journey

Make it easy for someone to start small and grow with you. A low-commitment option (like a workshop), a core offer (like a package), and a premium option (like ongoing support) gives people a clear path without feeling pressured.

  3. Remove the friction to buy

Even interested people drop off when things feel complicated. Clear pricing (or a clear starting point), a simple booking link, and a straightforward “what happens next” reduces mental load and makes action feel easy.

  4. Use honest urgency

Urgency works best when it’s real and respectful - limited spaces, deadlines, seasonal timing, or diary capacity. Frame it as a friendly nudge rather than pressure, so people feel supported to decide, not pushed.

 Local marketing that works

Local-first marketing turns connections into enquiries by helping people find you, meet you, and recommend you

  1. Make it easy to find you

Being visible isn’t the same as being findable. Keep your contact details consistent, update your Google Business Profile, and use location words naturally (Cornwall, your town, local landmarks) so locals can discover you when they’re actively looking.

  2. Collaborate for shared reach

Local partnerships are like a shortcut to trust because you’re being introduced by someone people already know. Think joint events, bundles, guest spots, or shared giveaways. Simple collaborations can double your exposure without doubling your workload.

  3. Encourage referrals naturally

Referrals happen more when you ask at the right moment - right after someone’s had a great experience. Keep it light and easy: “If you know someone who’d love this, feel free to pass my name on, ” or offer a small thank-you for introductions.

  4. Show up offline too

In-person visibility often converts faster because it feels personal and memorable. Markets, pop-ups, community noticeboards, cafes, and local events all build familiarity - and familiarity is what makes people choose you when they’re ready.

Marketing is not the art of finding clever ways to dispose of what you make. It is the art of creating genuine customer value.
